Blessings

I just have the best husband! I love my birthday post and all the old photos he dug up! I have had such a wonderful 28th Birthday. It started with me getting to sleep through the night because my mother-in-law fed my babies in the middle of the night! That was the best gift to a new mom...the gift of sleep! My sweet children gave me a beautiful card, apparently they told dad which one to get, and my amazing husband brought me home a yummy sweet treat! Does he know me or what...I don't need flowers, just something sweet to eat! Also, my wonderful students called me and sang "Happy Birthday" to me. I wasn't able to get to the phone (feeding babies), but they sang on my machine and I can now listen to the message as much as I want :) I also got to spend some time with a precious friend and her darling children today! It was a great birthday!

I was thinking about this time last year...we had just found out that our first round of in vitro was unsuccessful. I was very sad and had no desire to celebrate a birthday. I continued to trust the Lord and that this was His will, but we can be sad about His plan for us and still be at peace with that plan. That was where I was...sad and at peace. I also wondered if I would ever be a mother. I didn't know if it was something the Lord would allow me to experience, I prayed it was but had no way of knowing...no way of knowing the amazing blessing of Riley and Quinn would soon be on their way. Isn't that just how the Lord works. He knows what is just around the corner, but asks us to trust Him with the future we can't see. So this year I am celebrating...
Celebrating my sweet children, the best gifts I've ever been given!
Celebrating my wonderful husband and how amazing it has been to see him as a father!
Celebrating my Savior and His plan for my life and the sweet peace found in trusting Him!
Celebrating motherhood, and the fulfilment of a dream!

Happy Birthday Mommy!!!

Today is Brenna's 28th birthday and her first birthday as a mom!!! (Yes, our birthdays are a year and a day apart.) It has been wonderful watching her totally embrace her role as mother to Quinn and Riley. I have had the privilege to see joy in Brenna before, but never like I have in recent weeks. No two babies have ever been more loved! I am trully blessed beyond words to have her as my true love, my best friend, my wife and now the mother of my beautify children. I love you Brenna and wish you a very happy birthday!

Enjoy some pictures from down memory lane.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

It's Geoff's 29th Birthday today! His first birthday as a daddy...and what a wonderful daddy and husband he is to our family. He has been such an amazing daddy and does so much to take care of Quinn and Riley! There is so much to do to take care of 2 little ones and I am so blessed to have a husband who is so helpful. He loves me and his babies so very much and we love him too! We are so blessed by him...I have loved seeing him as a father...He is everything that I knew he would be! Happy Birthday Geoff!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile...life has been crazy! I will add some pictures soon, I promise. Riley and Quinn are both doing great. Riley is over 6 lbs. and Quinn is over 10 lbs. They are growing so quickly! They also seem to be getting more consistant with only waking once at night to eat. Please pray this continues...sleep is good! Riley is dealing with some reflux, which is not fun. She is on zantac and it seemed to be helping at first but not so much in the last few days. Please keep her in your prayers and that we will figure out the right medication to help her.

Got to go feed the babies...sorry this is short, more later...

Doctor Appointments and Play Dates

We had a great weight check on Tuesday at the Doctor's office. Riley weighs 5 lbs. 4 oz and Quinn weighs 8 lbs. 14 oz! They are both growing great and the Dr. gave us the go ahead to let them see how long they will sleep at night, not having to wake them every 3 hours. Last night we only got up once during the night! It was beautiful and we are praying for it to continue.
Quinn enjoying some tummy time on his play mat!
Riley's new headband, see her red eyes from the eye Dr...poor girl!

Riley had to go to the eye Dr. on Wed. to get her eyes checked out. She had to have them checked due to her low birth weight because Quinn didn't have to go. I will say that the appointment was kinda traumatic for her and this mama. They had to put this thing in her eye to hold it open...and she screamed bloody murder. Praise the Lord for dad being there to help hold her because I could not do it. I couldn't watch it at all, but I was there to comfort her the minute it was over. She got a good report and we don't have to go through that again! PTL!

Aunt Jana came to stay since Geoff''s mom had to go home on Wed. We love our Aunt Jana and all the good cuddle time, home cooking, and wonderful help she's been (including playing with Haley)!

We also had lots of visitors today. Shelley brought her son Caleb and Jessica brought her daughter Madison over for a play date! We had fun visiting with our friends. Also, one of our wonderful nurses from the NICU came to visit later today and brought her 3 children as well. Her younger 2 are boy/girl twins like Riley and Quinn! They all had fun holding the babies! What fun we are having...loving life! Caleb, Quinn, and Riley

Girlfriends...Madison and Riley!

Nurse Beth and family...Lauren, Bradley, and Taylor! Thanks for visiting us!
