Three Months Old

I cannot believe my babies are three months old already! Time is flying by and I am just loving my days with them. There are certainly times that are stressful (when they are both screaming and there is only one of me :) and times that are tiring (they aren't sleeping through the night yet, but are getting closer) but the smiles and coos and cuddles I get in return make it all worth it. They are growing so quickly and changing so much! In this past month they have both moved to taking just one bottle, and they nurse the rest of the time. Yesterday, we went to the pool for the first time and they seemed to enjoy it (they both took a nap). They are both holding their heads up better, we call them bobble heads sometimes. It is so cute when they are looking around and then their head will bobble a little. Quinn loves being on his tummy and is trying to suck his thumb. Riley likes to cuddle much more now that her reflux medicine is working and keeping her more relaxed. Here's their one month picture... Their two month picture...

And their three month picture... Notice Quinn is wearing the same outfit in months two and three but it fits him much better now!
Nana came back for a visit this week. She can only go so long without seeing her grandbabies!
Nana with all her grandchildren :)
Our wonderful neighbor, Cricket, who comes over and helps me in the evenings when Geoff is out of town...she's coming over tomorrow :)
Quinn and Riley have spent some time bonding with Haley lately! Quinn showing off his neck strength and how much he loves being on his tummy!
Some cuddle time...
See how big we are getting...
More cuteness...
Smiles from this sweet boy...
Riley likes telling stories...
Spending time with daddy...
Mommy with her three month old babies. I just love them so very much! Quinn and Riley you fill my heart and make my life so much richer for being in it. I am so thankful that the Lord has allowed me to be your mommy. I love you both and I always will!

Twin Friends and Lots of Fun

So you may remember this picture from last fall. Some very good friends of ours, Jonathan and Natalie, were also pregnant with boy/girl twins and were due 8 weeks behind us. So there was really 6 people in this picture...And here we all are! Their sweet babies, Luke and Madison, were born exactly 9 weeks after Quinn and Riley! We got to see them on our trip a few weeks ago. It was super fun to have them all together and really crazy to be around babies that made Quinn and Riley look big! They were born at about 35 weeks and didn't have to go to the NICU! Go Luke and Madison! We loved meeting them and look forward to lots of fun together!

Riley, Quinn, Luke, and Madison (don't you love Madison's hands back behind her head, too cute!).Visiting with Emily

Cuddle time with Grammy and Pop (notice their coordinating shirts that say 100% baby girl and 100% baby boy, thank you Barret and Shelley!)

We got to see my "Aunt Kate", long time family friend, who was so excited to meet Quinn and Riley!

Lovin' on Aunt Jana

Nana's house was lots of fun

Riley does a great poochy lip, it is so cute and I just had to capture it on camera. The picture doesn't quite do it justice but it is adorably sad when she does it.

Geoff's "Aunt SueZanne", long time family friend, came to see Quinn and Riley

Riley also does this funny thing where she will fall asleep with her hands in the air and keep them there while she sleeps, so cute!

Quinn is really cooing and talking to us, he also loves playing with his tongue, adorable!
Here they are chillin' out together, Quinn's trying to tell her to scoot over b/c she's crowding him!

We also have been busy lately with outings to our nephew's soccer game, their first trip to Chick-fil-A, a trip to my school and Geoff's work to meet everyone, and probably some stuff I'm forgetting too. We are having some difficulties at night that are keeping me up and pretty sleep deprived so say a prayer for us that everyone (mainly Riley) will start sleeping better.

We did have quite an adventure last week when Geoff and I took Quinn, Riley, and Haley on a walk around the neighborhood. It was a pretty evening and we set off to get some fresh air. We were in a cul-de-sac down the road when it starts looking pretty overcast right above us and Geoff starts feeling some rain drops coming down. He felt about 3 before I ever felt one, so for a minute I didn't believe it was really raining. Well, it starts to rain and we pull the shades over Quinn and Riley and start to walk faster. We are getting lightly rained on and are getting close to home so no problem, right. The next thing we know the sky completely opens up and it starts pouring...Geoff found the top speed for the stroller (warning: if you go to fast the wheels will start to shake) and we are running through the rain trying to get home. We made it, wet and out of breath, but we made it. Quinn and Riley didn't get too wet thanks to those shades and they got some fresh air and their first shower for the trip. So next time maybe we'll check the weather report for rain before we set out on our walk.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my children?!!! They are so much fun and I just love spending my days with them. It is such a blessing that I get to stay home with them and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity that I have to be with them everyday and watch them grow. I know it is not something that everyone can (or maybe wants to do), but as much as I do love my job teaching, I am blessed beyond words to have this new job. Quinn and Riley will be 12 weeks old on Thursday and I have absolutely no idea where the time has gone, I just know that I am loving every minute with them!

Mother's Day and More

I got to celebrate my very first Mother's Day this year! It was amazing and I am just so thankful for the gift of getting to be a mother to my 2 sweet children. They are so precious and I am so in love with both of them. There have been Mother's Days in the past few years that were very difficult for me, reminders of what I didn't have, didn't know if I would ever have. This Mother's Day was a sweet reminder of the goodness of the Lord and that waiting on His timing and plans brings blessings beyond imagination! I also want to say how thankful I am for our wonderful mothers. They have helped us so much with Riley and Quinn and I truly could not have done it without them both. Thank you Nana and Grammy!

Our nephew, Evan, was dedicated on Mother's Day!

Family photo (notice Geoff and Quinn both in seersucker, so handsome!) Pretty baby girl! I love her!

Cute baby boy! I love him!So the babies have moved up to their nursery (it's on the 2nd floor and our room is on the 1st floor)! They have spent the last two nights there and have done pretty good. It helps having the video monitor, we can look in on them anytime. We put them down up in the crib on Monday night and left the room. I came back later and found Haley curled up on the floor beside the crib. She's such a good dog and is protecting her babies!

Yeah! First night in our nursery!
In other news, we got Quinn started on the Prilosec for his reflux as well. That Zantac just didn't help at all. The Lord decided to bless me with 2 babies that have reflux, at the same time! They sure are a blessing and we will work through the reflux, this too shall pass. Only, I don't want it to pass too quickly. They are going to be 11 weeks tomorrow and I already feel like the last 11 weeks have flown by. They are starting to smile at us and Quinn is cooing and we are just having a great time together. Also, our trip last week went great! They slept pretty much the whole time in the car and we got to see lots of people. I was pretty impressed with myself for getting us all packed and out of town on my own! I love my babies and I am loving my days with them!

Two Month Stats

So we went to the Dr. last week for their two month appointment. I made sure that Geoff could come with us because I knew I wasn't going to like the shots and we all needed him there! The Dr. was very pleased with both of their growth and weight gain!
Quinn
weight 11lbs. 6oz
height 21 3/4 inches

Riley
weight 7lbs. 2oz
height 19 1/2 inches

We also are seeing some improvement in Riley's reflux with the new medicine she is on. It is so good to not see in her in pain at every meal! We think Quinn might be dealing with some reflux but are trying things like letting him sleep in his car seat (so he's more upright) before we move to medicine.

The shots were definitely traumatic...at least for me! They both got 3 shots and I cried right along with them. They were a little hard on Riley, she was really sore that night and had a little temp. the next day. She recovered and Quinn did great so all in all we survived our first round of shots!

This week Geoff has to go out of town so I'm taking Quinn and Riley to the upstate to stay with my parents. We have some friends and family we haven't gotten to see yet so that will be fun. I'm a little anxious about packing for us all and actually making the drive with them by myself so keep us in your prayers for our out of town adventure!

Two Months

I can't believe my babies are 2 months old today! They are growing so fast and I love them more each day! We've been busy and had lots of visitors, below are some pictures from the past few weeks. Enjoy!
